The delegation met with Alexei Mordashov, the Chairman of the Board of directors of Severstal. It has also toured the company’s production and social infrastructure facilities.
Alexei Mordashov and Irene Cammo discussed opportunities for Vologda region’s business elite working together with European businessmen within the framework of the European Business Club. They have also touched upon development and future perspectives of the Severgal project with Arcelor.
In 2003, the European Business Club’s priority was to support Russia’ entry in WTO and its integration into the European Economic Union. With that in view it has been working closely with the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs on formulating a common position on the ways and mechanisms of this entry. The result of these efforts will be presented and considered at the coming Russian-European summit in November 2003 in Copenhagen.
The European Business Club was created in 1995, and presently has 100 European member companies from 15 countries of the European Union.
