Salekhard hosted today a working meeting between Alexander Ananenkov, Deputy Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee and Dmitry Kobylkin, the newly appointed Governor of the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug (YaNAO).
The meeting assembled Viktor Ilyushin, Member of the Gazprom Management Committee – Head of the Department for Relations with Regional Authorities of the Russian Federation, as well as general directors of Gazprom’s subsidiaries operating in the YaNAO.
Alexander Ananenkov and Dmitry Kobylkin noted the perfect partnership relations formed between Gazprom and the YaNAO Administration.
The parties confirmed their commitment to continue strengthening the mutually beneficial cooperation aimed at comprehensive commercial development of onshore and offshore fields of the Yamal Peninsula.
Background:
The Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug (YaNAO) is a strategic partner of Gazprom. In the YaNAO, the Company extracts over 90 per cent of natural gas. Gazprom’s subsidiary companies, namely, Gazprom dobycha Nadym, Gazprom dobycha Noyabrsk, Gazprom dobycha Urengoy, Gazprom dobycha Yamburg and Gazprom neft carry out their production activities in the region.
Gazprom is implementing the Yamal megaproject in the YaNAO. The first stage of the project resulted in the construction of pre-development facilities for the Bovanenkovo oil, gas and condensate field, the Bovanenkovo – Ukhta gas trunkline system and the Obskaya – Bovanenkovo railroad.
In 2002 Gazprom and the YaNAO entered into the Memorandum of Interaction. The parties annually enter into Agreements of Cooperation stipulating the parties’ obligations in various joint activities under the Memorandum.
On September 24, 2009 Gazprom and the YaNAO Administration signed the Agreement of Cooperation for 2010. Pursuant to the document, the parties are interacting in the sectors of natural resources management, taxation, pricing and social policies, as well as in property and land relations, capital construction, transports, charity and sponsorship activities.
