The new 220 kV sub-station will meet the district's needs for additional power by covering the 200 km2 area. The substation will supply power to a number of public facilities, including the training sites of two skiing centers and another skiing center "Concord", currently under construction. In addition, Shukolovo substation will ensure back-up power supply for Dmitrov highway.
Shukolovo substation will become the most advanced substation on Dmitrov district. It will be equipped with electronic control and protection systems, which will improve quality and reliability and simplify operations. They will install SF6 switches, much more reliable than previously used oil switches. Though Shukolovo substation will not be as big as other substations it will have a completely modern design.
AO MOSENERGO started construction of the Shukolovo substation last spring. The construction will be completed in one month. AO MOSENERGO solely financed the project. In May Dmitrov grids plan to run a complex test at the sub-station. Afterwards Shukolovo substation will be put into operation.
