8 July 2008, Moscow. Comstar – United Telesystems (JSC Comstar-UTS, LSE: CMST), the leading supplier of integrated telecom solutions in Russia and the CIS announced appointment of Ivan Gavriletsky as general director of CJSC Coversia Svyaz, a subsidiary of JSC Comstar-UTS in the Saratov region.
   
Formerly Deputy CEO and director of OJSC Volgatelecom’s branch in the city of Ulyanovsk he succeeded to Îleg Korolkov on this new position.

“Ivan Gavriletsky is known in the trade as a professional well versed in the specifics of development in the regional telecommunications market, with a many years’ background in the industry. We expect that with I.Gavriletsky in charge this operating company will significantly increase its market share in the Saratov region through development of multi-service offerings – telephony, including DLD/ILD, broadband Internet. Another task he will deal with is to complete the integration of Coversia Svyaz into JSC Comstar-UTS”, – said Vicotr Koresh, VP, Regional, of Comstar – United Telesystems.
   
Ivan Gavriletsky was born in 1952. In 1974 he graduated from Novocherkassk Higher Military Command School of Signal Communications with the qualification «Officer of communications troops, engineer of telecommunication facilities operation». From 1969 to 1991 he served in the USSR Armed Forces.
   
His career in public telecommunications started in 1992. From engineer and head of exchange cabling department he rose to the chief engineer of OJSC Saratovelectrosvyaz, the Saratov’s PSTN. In 1999 he moved to OJSC Volgatelecom as technical director of the Saratov branch of this multiregional telecommunication company. From 2006 until recently he was Deputy CEO and director of the Ulyanovsk’s branch of OJSC Volgatelecom.
