Orenburgenergo branch of Rosseti Volga (a brand of IDGC of Volga, PJSC) is actively developing the electricity metering system as part of the program “Development of the electricity metering system in 2019–2020”. During the implementation of the energy investment program, smart meters are installed on the power transmission supports in all areas of the region.
The modernization of the electricity metering system is carried out in accordance with the requirements of the “Digital Transformation 2030” concept developed by Rosseti, PJSC. New metering devices allow power engineers to reduce losses in grids, and to save on electricity for consumers. Smart meters also exclude the possibility of unaccounted consumption of electric energy, unauthorized access to power grids, distortion of readings using various devices.
In the first quarter of this year, power engineers installed 2,937 metering devices in the Orenburg region. Another 3,338 meters will be installed before the end of the year.
Commercial metering devices are installed on the border of the balance sheet. Meters for private households connected to the Orenburgenergo grids are mounted on the power line supports. Their installation and maintenance are free for consumers.
