Power Machines Group in a consortium with "ICA" and "La Nacional ", largest Mexican construction companies, and the Federal Electricity Committee of Mexico signed a contract for the construction of El Cajon HPP on the “turn-key basis". The price of the contract amounted to 750 million US$.
According to the contract terms Power Machines Group will supply the full volume of electromechanical and auxiliary equipment for the two hydro power units the capacity of each being 375 ?w. Design works, manufacturing, installation and testing of the equipment will be elaborated by "Electrosila" and by the manufacturers of the power equipment from Ukraine and Brazil. El Cajon HPP is to be put into operation in 2007. The price of the contract amounted to 750 million US$, thus Power Machines Group’ share exceeds 140 million US dollars. Financing of the project will be carried out by the West LB AG Bank, New York Branch.
“General Electric” and “Siemens” became the major competitors in the tender for the construction of El Cajon HPP. Taking into consideration the fact that "Energomachexport – Power Machines Group” has delivered turbines, generators and other equipment for the construction of Aguamilpa HPP and Uites HPP (Mexico) in 1992-1995 and has been rewarded with the The Reliable Supplier Certificates by the Federal Electricity Committee of Mexico, "Energomachexport – Power Machines Group” were accepted by the competition committee as being the best.
Thus, "Energomachexport" being the part of the “Power Machines Group", comes back to the market of Mexico over several years.
