An official reception was given on the occasion of President of the Baltika Brewery Public Corp. Taimuraz Bolloev's assumption of the post of the Honorary Consul of the Federative Republic of Brazil in the North-West region of Russia.
In September 2002, the Federative Republic of Brazil and the Russian Federation made an agreement on establishing the Honorary Consulate of Brazil in the North-West region of Russia. According to the agreement, Taimuraz Bolloev, President of the Baltika Brewery, was appointed the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Brazil in the North-West and other regions of Russia.
The institution of Honorary Consulates helps actively develop international relations. An Honorary Consul is intended to be a protector of the interests of foreign investors who invest their money into Russia's economy and so would like to have there an influential representative of theirs. Another very important task of Honorary Consulates is to protect and promote the Russian economic interests outside Russia and to develop cultural ties between Russia and other countries. That is why it is the most active businessmen and people who have authority and influence in their country who are chosen to be Honorary Consuls.
Katia Gilaberte, Temporary Charge d'Affaires of Brazil in Russia, commented on the assumption of the Honorary Consul post by the President of the Baltika Company: "We are very glad that Mr. Bolloev is appointed this post. We are sure that this appointment will help promote the development of political, business and cultural ties between our countries."
The Honorary Consulate of Brazil will be situated at the Baltika Company.
