OJSC Southern Telecommunications Company is scheduled to hold its annual shareholders meeting on June 25, 2003.  This decision was adopted at a regular board of directors meeting of the company.  The order of business for the agenda has not yet been determined.  As reported previously by PRIME TASS, the telecom operator for the Southern Region of Russia, which is controlled by OJSC Svyazinvest, completed the legal issues pertaining to the mega-regoinal merger on October 31, 2002. The Southern Telecommunications Company consists of: Svyazinform, Astrakhan region, Elektrosvyaz, Rostov region, Volgogradelektrosvyaz, Elektrosvyaz, Stavropol krai, Elektrosvyaz, Republic of Adygeiya, Karachaevo-Cherkesselektrosvyaz, Kabbalktelecom, Elektrosvyaz, Republic of Kalmykia and Sevostetineletkrosvyaz.
