On April 6, 2010, IDGC Holding and KAMAZ signed the Cooperation Agreement, whose implementation will extend the possibilities for progressive development of the Russian electric grid facilities and for implementation of innovative projects for development, manufacture, and export of high-technology industrial products. The Agreement was signed by IDGC Holding Director General Nikolay Shvets and KAMAZ Director General Sergei Kogogin. The signing ceremony was held in the IDGC Holding Central Office in Moscow.
Under this Agreement, the main lines of cooperation between the Parties include development of service and other infrastructures ensuring efficient and reliable functioning of KAMAZ-made machinery used by the IDGC Holding subsidiaries and dependent companies (SDCs) and extension of assortment of products supplied by KAMAZ to the domestic and foreign markets.
At present, 11 operating companies of IDGC Holding use more than 900 KAMAZ-made vehicles, specialized vehicles, and other types of machinery throughout Russia. These products include mobile elevating work platforms having various heights of ascent, crew vehicles, truck cranes, drilling-crane machines, electrolaboratories, dump trucks, and other specialized vehicles. About 180 of specialized vehicles of the above types are to be replaced in 2010–2012.
Under the Agreement, the Parties will develop joint cooperation plans to renew the IDGC Holding SDCs fleet of motor transportation and specialized vehicles and provide vehicle service and maintenance training to IDGC Holding SDCs specialists. It is planned to take coordinated measures to prevent the circulation of infringing and counterfeit products offered for sale for the needs of the IDGC Holding SDCs.
In the context of the Agreement, IDGC Holding will coordinate the implementation of integrated programs aimed at developing transportation equipment for its operating companies and their modernization, exercising control over promptness and completeness of execution of IDGC Holding SDCs' orders for delivery of vehicles, chassis, specialized vehicles, and of other types of KAMAZ-made machinery.
For its part, KAMAZ will create adequate conditions to provide the IDGC Holding SDCs with reliable vehicles, high quality spare parts and units, and vehicle repair and maintenance services, including those provided by the chain of service centers for KAMAZ-made trucks. The partners plan to participate in the efforts aimed at renewing the transportation fleet of the IDGC Holding operating companies and will consider the comments and proposals on the part of the motor transportation divisions of the IDGC Holding SDCs with regard to machinery operation and design development to improve the quality of machinery manufactured by KAMAZ.
According to IDGC Holding Director General Nikolay Shvets, today's Agreement "opens opportunities for mutually beneficial cooperation in the creation by the KAMAZ entities of new specialized machinery models for the needs of the IDGC Holding electric distribution grid facilities."
"KAMAZ is a reliable and time-proved partner for IDGC Holding and our cooperation helps to develop the electric distribution grid sector and enhance the reliability and quality of services. The automotive and specialized machinery supplied by KAMAZ promotes uninterrupted electricity supply for our customers and helps IDGC Holding to follow guaranteed customer service quality standards. The Agreement that we've signed today will give an impulse to new joint programs and projects aimed at developing the domestic electric grid facilities and promote enhancement of quality and extension of the range of KAMAZ-made automotive vehicles, which have given an excellent account of themselves not only in Russia, but also in many countries," emphasized Nikolay Shvets.
"The Cooperation Agreement with IDGC Holding," said KAMAZ Director General Sergei Kogogin, "adds new colors KAMAZ's image as the main and reliable supplier of automotive vehicles designed for all economic sectors and as an entity guaranteeing transportation safety for Russia. The Agreement provides for joint implementation of important investment projects and an extensive range of measures aimed at promoting not only IDGC Holding and KAMAZ, but also the entire Russian economy, which will benefit from this cooperation in terms of receiving new high-technology productive and reliable KAMAZ vehicles."
