The Gazprom headquarters hosted today a working meeting between Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Company’s Management Committee and Alexander Karlin, Governor of the Altai Krai.
The parties addressed the implementation of the Agreement of Cooperation signed between Gazprom and the Krai Administration.
A focus was placed on the regional gasification issues. Particular consideration was given to the potential gasification of the Biryuzovaya Katun tourism and recreation special economic zone, as well as the western and southwestern regions of the Altai Krai.
The meeting emphasized the necessity to fulfill the obligations assumed by the Krai’s Administration relevant to consumer preparation for gas supplies.
Background:
In 2004 Gazprom and the Altai Krai Administration signed the Accord on Gasification and the Agreement of Cooperation that was extended in 2009.
Gasification level of the Altai Krai is at 7.2 per cent including 11.4 per cent in cities and towns and 2.6 per cent in the rural area. The average gasification rates in Russia are at 63.2, 67.5, and 45.5 per cent respectively.
Between 2005 and 2009 Gazprom allocated RUB 1.6 billion for the Altai Krai gasification. The funds were used to construct 19 inter-settlement gas pipelines with the total length of 212 kilometers.
