IDGC of Center and Volga Region is among twenty most effective companies in the country

The ecological and energy rating agency Interfax ERA released its regular rating of the fundamental effectiveness of the 150 largest companies in the real sector in Russia. IDGC of Center and Volga Region, JSC, taking the 15th place in the rating, was included in the twenty largest companies in the country with high rates of eco-energy and technological efficiency. At the same time, IDGC of Center and Volga Region, JSC was awarded the second place among energy companies.
The rating is based on the ranging of companies by four criteria: the eco-energy efficiency (the amount of useful products produced per unit of consumed energy and natural resources), technological efficiency (the ability of the company equipment to operate with less impact on the environment). Besides, the degree of business transparency and trends of enterprise efficiency change since 2000were taken into account. Companies are included in the Top -150 by the total amount of revenue - this is a list of the largest businesses in the real sector of the Russian economy.
According to Sergey Andrus, the Deputy Director General for technical Issues - Chief Engineer of IDGC of Center and Volga Region, JSC, the systematic work aimed at improving the energy efficiency of production is carried out in the electric grid complex since its formation. Over the past five years, from 2008 to 2012, specialists of IDGC of Center and Volga Region, JSC managed to reduce losses in electric grids by 547 million kWh. The volume on the connected capacity under technological connection agreements increased by 181 MW. In 2013, the work to improve the operating performance continued: for nine months, the losses in the grids of IDGC of Center and Volga Region decreased by 44.4 million kWh, or 1.3% compared to the same period of the last year and amounted to 7.9% of the supply. Consumption of resources (electricity, heat, gas, water) for own economic and industrial needs decreased as well to 1,745 tons of fuel. As a result, the total effect of the implementation of the comprehensive program to improve energy efficiency at the beginning of October amounted to RUR 257.6 m.
The priorities of IDGC of Center and Volga Region include environmental safety of electricity transmission and distribution. For several years, the energy company implements the environmental policy, which aims to minimize the impact of production operations on the environment. From 2008 through 2012, the energy company assigned more than RUR 66m for the implementation of the environment protection measures. All branches of the company organized the work for the industrial environmental monitoring, equipment of temporary waste storage, transfer of production and consumption waste to specialized organizations for disposal and placement. As part of the investment company, the company holds reconstruction of the systems and devices of oil collectors, replacement of oil switches by vacuum circuit breakers.
According to the General Director of IDGC of Center and Volga Region, JSC Evgeny Ushakov, “High assessment of the energy company performance by experts of the rating agency is the result of the company active investment activity aimed at the development of the grid infrastructure of nine regions of the country with implementation of modern technologies and innovative energy-efficient equipment. Since 2009, the environmental management system in IDGC of Center and Volga Region, JSC operates in accordance with the requirements of the standard ISO 14001 and is an important component of the corporate development strategy in the electric grid development.”
