Samara Distribution Grids, a branch of IDGC of Volga, JSC developed a number of measures to ensure standby power supply for socially significant facilities, including hospitals, boarding schools, and rehabilitation centers. To ensure reliability of power supply, redundant power supply switchover circuits will be provided for 12 state-owned enterprises of the region. Samara branch of IDGC of Volga, ISC received a request to define optimum methods to increase power supply reliability class for facilities subject to the general jurisdiction of the Ministry for Public Health and Social Development and the Ministry for Education and Science of the Samara region. Specialists of the power sector adjusted the Investment Program, with due consideration of required capacities of standby electric sources to ensure operations of facilities in the event of loss of the primary power. Based on the data obtained, specialists developed a number of measures to build redundant switchover circuits to maintain power supply for the facilities. For example, to ensure standby power supply for State-Owned Enterprise of the Samara Region Koshkinsky Geriatric Home for Labor Veterans, it is necessary to provide a 2õ160 KVA package transformer substation. Designed to ensure voltage conversion in the alternate current network and electric power distribution, the substation includes power transformers, a switchgear, automatic control and protection equipment, and auxiliary facilities. To increase reliability of power supply for State Health Care Facility of the Samara Region Chapayevsky Narcological Dispensary, it is necessary to provide a 10 kV branch power line (approximately 100-m long) from Kotelnaya substation (35 kV), with construction of a 10/0.4 kV transformer substation having capacity of 100 KVA. In order to establish a redundant power supply switchover circuit for the boarding school in Maly Tolkay settlement, a state-owned special (corrective) educational institution for disabled children, it is necessary to build a 10 kV circular power transmission line from PPF substation, with a 10 kV line from Erzovka substation (35 kV). In general, power sector specialists will provide additional redundant power supply switchover circuits for 12 facilities in the Samara region, including State-Owned Enterprise of the Samara Region Bakhilovsky Geriatric Home for Invalids, State-Owned Enterprises of the Samara Region Koshkinsky and Pestravsky Geriatric Homes for Labor Veterans, Isaklinsky Rehabilitation Center for Disabled Children and Teenagers “Detstvo”, etc. All activities aimed to increase reliability of power supply for these facilities will be completed by the end of 2013.
