Zagorsk GAES had already started to prepare for winter load in early May. The company will carry out maintenance on all six hydro units. As of today, two of them are ready for operation.

In early July, Zagorsk GAES plans to complete the overhaul of hydro unit 2. The GAES specialists have checked all main and auxiliary equipment of the unit. Currently, some defects in the flowing part and bearings are being removed.

The company will also carry out maintenance on four 500 kV switches, which link the station to the power system. In addition, the company will service all main transformers at the station. Thorough maintenance and servicing will be carried out on auxiliary electric and hydro mechanical equipment.

Next September, the company will complete the construction of the ancillary premises. This will be the last stage of GAES construction. Thus, the project of the first Russian hydro-storage power station will be complete. It started in 1974. After the ancillary premises are completed, Zagorsk GAES will be commanded by a special commission, consisting of local government and technical monitoring representatives. They will inspect the equipment and buildings and commission the station for operations.
