Northern Electric Grids – the branch of JSC “MOESK” has summed up performance of the repairs plans for first three months of 2011. The volume of money (taking into account additional financing) for performance of works at the grid infrastructure facilities has equaled RUR 142.7 million. The technical action plan has been updated according to the aim of the Company to liquidate the consequences of “ice storms”, which were registered in the north of the Moscow Area at the end of 2010 - the beginning of 2011. The second goal of the reporting period, which is as important as the previous one, has become improvement of reliability of supply of electricity to consumers of all categories and voltage levels, as well as reduction in the quantity of the technological breaks entailing the growth in undersupply of electricity. The priority works supported by significant additional financing, have included clearing of routes for overhead lines and replacement of bare wire by self-supporting insulated conductors (SSIC) at the feeders, which are located in forest areas. In such a manner, 101.2 hectares of routes instead of the planned 32.1 hectares have been cleared away for the overhead lines (OL), which are of special importance for maintenance of operation of the large feeding centers. As to the distribution grids of 6-10 kV voltage, the amount of route-clearing works has been increased, and installation of self- supporting insulated conductors of 101.4 km instead of the originally planned 13.2 km has been performed. The implemented actions are a part of the large-scale technical program developed by Moscow United Electric Grid Company aimed to improve the stability of operation of the electric grid complex in the region. Step-by-step performance of the updated repairs program will allow not only to reduce the number of possible technological breaks, but also to lower the time for restoration of supply of electricity to consumers in case of an emergency situation. The volume of maintained electric grid facilities of Northern Electric Grids – the branch of JSC “MOESK” equals 135,530 c.u. or 3,726 km of 35-220 kV lines, 130 feeding centers with the installed power of 7,021 MVA, 13,700 km of 0.4-6-10kV lines and 3,522 TS (transformer stations) and CPDC (central power distribution centers).
