OJSC Far Eastern Telecommunications Company (Dalsvyaz) released its financial results for the first nine months of 2002. Revenue generated from the sale of work and services stood at RUR 1.2 billion, profit was RUR 303.2 million and net profit was 37.3 million.
Compared to the same period last year revenue was up 24.7 percent and profit increased 54 percent. The company's revenue breakdown was as follows:

Document transmission remains a loss-making activity ( - RUR 51, 612,000), rural telephone traffic ( - RUR 64,936,000), and cable broadcasting ( - RUR 11,615,000). The most profitable activities were long-distance traffic - 77.8% and value-added telecom services (Internet, paging) - 239.8%.
Accounts receivable for telecom services (not including budgetary debts for special discount customers) rose 20.2 % compared to 2001 and stood at RUR 82,472,000.
Results for the first nine months of 2002 were tallied without factoring in the merger with six regional telecom companies based in the Far East.
