MOSENERGO (TGC-3)

October 17, 2001

Deputy Head for Environmental Protection Petr Bublei says AO MOSENERGO no longer uses boilers that emit pollutants

Boiler No.8 at TETS-23 that was rebuilt in 2001 was the last boiler in AO MOSENERGO that had cyclone furnace extension. Earlier, two such boilers were rebuilt at TETS-21 and TETS-23. Thus, AO MOSENERGO no longer has boilers with highly polluting emissions.

“We eliminated the reason behind polluting emissions by changing the principle for operating boiler burners. From now on the equipment meets all environmental standards,” said Deputy Head for Enviromental Protection Petr Bublei.

AO MOSENERGO has vigorously implemented environmental projects at the company's energy facilities. In 8mo01, the environmental performance at Moscow TETS improved two times over compared to the same period last year.

In general, AO MOSENERGO emissions are three times lower than existing standards.
