One of the most important transport arteries of St. Petersburg - Petergofskoe highway - was under great reconstruction at the eve of the city jubilee. In particular, 110 new light diodes traffic lights, made by LOMO, were set there.

   Light diodes traffic lights were designed at the St. Petersburg optical firm at the end of 90th. These new devises differ from lamp traffic lights by more high brightness, absence of so called "phantom effect"  (coloured lenses are not flared by sun), by high reliability, more less consumption of energy and attractive exterior.

   At the first time such devises were set in St. Petersburg in 1999 at the crossroad of Moscovskiy and Malodetskoselskiy prospects as a present from LOMO to the birthday of the city. At the eve of the jubilee - on April 17, 2003 - the firm passed to city one more complex of traffic lights, set at the corner of Nevskiy prospect and Alexander Nevskiy street.

   This time devises of LOMO work at Petergofskoe highway - road connecting the center of the city with Strelna - the residence of the President of the Russian Federation. And now traffic lights of LOMO have honour to meet high guests at the road during anniversary events.
