Chuvash power engineers provide electrical power to residents of six new districts in the Republic

Chuvashenergo Branch of IDGC of Volga, JSC completed the project planned in 2009, of electrical line installation in new streets of rural settlements in the Republic of Chuvashia. Residents of 12 villages in Cheboksarsky, Kanashsky, Batyrevsky, Komsomolsky, Morgaushsky, and Vurnarsky Districts of the Republic welcomed the long-awaited electricity in their homes. The total length of the power line of 0.4-10 kV is 15.6 km. Sixteen transformer substations with the total capacity of 1,895 kVA were installed. Electrification of new streets was financed from the profits of Chuvashenergo Branch of IDGC of Volga, JSC received from transfer of electrical energy payments and network access fees. In 2009, in accordance with the Company’s investment program, a total of some RUR 14 mln was allocated for investments into construction of new power lines. The Company began focusing its efforts on bringing electricity to rural areas in Chuvashia since 2000. New power line construction was financed through investments. Over the last decade Chuvashenergo Branch of IDGC of Volga, JSC built some 300 km of new power lines of 0.4-10 kV capacity. Redirecting the profits of Chuvashenergo Branch of IDCG of Volga, JSC received from transfer of electrical energy payments as investments into construction of new power lines helped speed up the process and assure reliable electricity supply thanks to using new technologies. Since 2003 instead of using bare aluminum wires power engineers have been using modern self-supporting isolated wires (SSIW). The enterprise is focused on its consumers and therefore bears social responsibility before them, says Dmitry Ivanov, Deputy General Director of IDGC of Volga, JSC, and Director of Chuvashenergo Branch. Bringing uninterrupted power supplies to people in Chuvash Republic remains a top priority issue for the Company.
