In nine months of 2003, AO MOSENERGO generated 53.9 bn kWt-h of electricity or 9.4% more than last year. The increase in power generation was caused by colder weather and RAO UES requirements.

In January-September 2003, power consumption among AO MOSENERGO customers grew by 4.8%. To meet the power needs in Moscow and Moscow region, AO MOSENERGO had to purchase power in other regions based on RAO UES's economic interests. In total, AO MOSENERGO purchased at FOREM 1.8 bn kWt-h of power.

From the start of the year, AO MOSENERGO supplied 49.5 mln Gcal of heat. In comparison with 2002, heat consumption in Moscow grew by 14% due to late spring and lower air temperature in 2003.
