In the “Orenburgenergo” branch of Rosseti Volga, PJSC, the seventh “Innovations 2020” scientific and practical conference was held. The event is held annually. The main goal is to popularize scientific activities in the field of electric power, to develop the innovative and creative potential of young specialists and experienced employees of the enterprise, students and graduate students of universities in the Orenburg region.

The conference consisted of several stages. At the first stage, the conference participants chose topics of work from the existing “bank of problems” or proposed their own topics concerning the main and auxiliary activities of the enterprise. The specialists had two months to create the project. 7 projects were submitted for the preliminary assessment by the Expert Committee. The main evaluation criteria are novelty, the level of depth of the declared topic, as well as the feasibility of applying the project in the “Orenburgenergo” branch.

At the next stage of the conference, participants defended their developments online. The contestants spoke in detail about the technological processes, costs and timing of their projects.

“The main tasks of the conference are the search and subsequent application of innovative developments in the activities of our enterprise. Last year's project on the implementation of electronic document management in a new reality showed its relevance and was introduced into the work of the branch”, said the Chairman of the Expert Committee Vladimir Strizhakov, Deputy Chief Engineer and Head of the industrial safety and production control service of the “Orenburgenergo” branch.

The best scientific and technical project of 2020 was developed by Artem Zitner, engineer of the industrial safety and industrial control service of the Northern Production Department. He presented a project on the topic: “Protection of 110/35/10/6 kV substations against nesting of birds and disconnection of power transformers and switches of 110/35/10 kV overhead lines as a result of short circuits by birds.”

At the final stage of the event, round tables were held, where expert in specialized areas determined ways to solve the identified problems of the enterprise functioning. The proposals developed by the participants of the round tables will be sent for consideration to the director of the “Orenburgenergo” branch for their subsequent introduction into the workflow.
