On January 20, 2016, PJSC Rosseti and Korea Electric Power Corporation KEPCO held their first joint meeting in the Rosseti offices as part of the Memorandum of Mutual Understanding signed in June, 2015. The meeting was dedicated to scientific and technical cooperation and the sharing of experience by the companies, as well as discussion of promising areas of cooperation.
At the meeting, Mr. Bong-Soo Ha, the head of the Korean delegation and Vice-President of KEPCO, spoke about the areas of activity in which KEPCO would be interested in cooperating with Rosseti. They include transmission and distribution of electric power, R&D, electric grid complex planning and development.
Representatives of the two companies were presented with the latest innovative technologies used and planned for use at the electric grid complex facilities of Russia and the Republic of Korea, and discussed the introduction mechanism for new-generation grid technologies (Smart grids) and the commercialization strategy for introducing intelligent technologies into grids.
Participants in the meeting agreed to continue sharing experience in future, including mutual assistance in introducing innovative equipment and ready-made solutions in design, and best practices when operating electric grid facilities aimed at improving and increasing the efficiency, reliability and safety of electric grid infrastructure.
