RAO UESR delegation headed by Anatoly Chubais taking part in e7 Annual Summit

Moscow, 31 May 2006. The delegation of RAO "UES of Russia" headed by Chairman of the Management Board Anatoly Chubais is taking part in the Annual Summit gathering of e7 Chairmen held in Evian, France.

RAO "UES of Russia" joined e7 as an associate partner in May 2004, when the Chairmen of the e7 electricity companies and Chairman of the RAO UESR Management Board Anatoly Chubais signed a partnership agreement. At the e7 Summit held in 2005, the rights of RAO "UES of Russia" were expanded, and the Russian energy company was granted full e7 membership.

In this connection, one of the key items on the Summit agenda will be changing the organization's name to ?8, and other organizational matters relating to the addition of RAO UESR to e7's membership. Besides, Chairmen of the world's leading electricity companies plan to discuss a number of issues relating to e7 projects, and the prospects for global energy industry.

* The e7, formed in 1991, is an international organization comprised of the leading electricity companies from G8 countries. The current members of the e7 are the world's 10 largest electricity companies: American Electric Power (USA), Electricite de France (France), Enel (Italy), Hydro-Quebec (Canada), Kansai Electric Power Company (Japan), Ontario Power Generation (Canada), RAO "UES of Russia" (Russia), RWE (Germany), Scottish Power (UK) and Tokyo Electric Power Company (Japan).

The strategic objectives of e7 are to: develop joint policy framework for sustainable development of the electricity industry; engage in the global debates on environment protection issues, internationalization, social trust; provide information and expertise on the efficient generation and use of electricity, and development of electricity markets; assist developing countries.
