In accordance with the Contract between Power Machines Group and UES Engineering Center (RAO UES of Russia) «Electrosila» (member of Power Machines Group) has supplied a turbogenerator with the capacity 6 MW for the first power unit of Argunskaya TPP, which is a priority project for RAO UES of Russia in the field of restoring power sector in the Chechnya Republic. The contract on equipment supply was signed in autumn 2002. In accordance with the terms of the contract turbogenerator with the capacity 6 MW equipped with activation system, brushless activator and turbocharger will be manufactured at "Electrosila", steam turbine of equivalent capacity. – at "Kaluga Turbine Works”, as well as assembling all the equipment to working condition. High-end insulation and vacuum-charging impregnation technologies have been applied in the course of designing and manufacturing of the turbogenerator as well as other technical solutions to secure high technical and economic characteristics and degree of efficiency at 98%. The project is unique in the CIS. The fully assembled turbogenerator has been shipped to the Contractor to secure its installation at the earliest possible date. The block is scheduled for launch in this October. It is currently considered to supply the second block of Argunskaya TPP with the set of the same equipment.

Argunskaya TPP is located in Argun – the second biggest industrial town of Chechnya. The plant was launched in early 1960s. It has been badly damaged during the war, with most of the equipment being a write-off. As a result of the restoration the capacity of the existing plant (12 ?W) units is extended to reach 18 MW
