OJSC North-West Telecom has opened a Flagman-format Customer Service Centre in St. Petersburg

On 24th June 2010 a renovated Customer Service Centre of OJSC N.W.Telecom in the Flagman (“Flagship”) format*, the first in the Northern Capital, was opened in St. Petersburg .

The opening of Flagman in St. Petersburg continue s the large-scale restructuring of OJSC North-West Telecom’s own sales network , aimed at creating a unified network of customer service divisions. Flagman-format customer service centres have been already opened in Kaliningrad  and Syktyvkar.

Flagman situated at 88, Nevsky Prospekt , in the very centre of the Northern Capital, will become the central office for providing service s to private customer s of OJSC N.W.Telecom in St. Petersburg . It operates in the “one window” mode: applying to the operator , the customer will get the entire required set of services, from consulting and demonstration to contract signing and contract payment.

The internal space of the new Customer Service Centre is divided into functional areas especially equipped for information and recreation, demonstration of service s and preparation of documents. In the Internet Hall with its comfortable workplaces and personal computers connected via optical cables, one can test free of charge the Internet access service s using the PON technology at the speed up to 40 Mb/s. In the self-service area, payment terminals and automatic teller machines are situated , using which a subscriber may promptly pay for service s of OJSC N.W.Telecom and other companies (including housing and public utility bills). For customer s’ convenience, a waiting and recreation area has been arranged in Flagman, where one may look through advertising and promotional materials and fill in the required documents.

A distinctive feature of OJSC N.W.Telecom’s new customer service centre is the round-the-clock operation , i.e. the possibility of helping a client to solve his/her questions at any time convenient for him/her.

The opening ceremony at Flagman was attended by:

- Alexey Azarskov, Deputy Chairman of the Information and Communication Committee of the St. Petersburg Government,

- Vadim Dzyubenko, Secretary of the Expert Council of the Standing Committee for Industry, Economics and Property at the Legislative Assembly of St. Petersburg ,

- Oleg Popov, Deputy CEO and Chief Commercial Director of OJSC N.W.Telecom,

- Grigory Chernyak, Deputy CEO for Property Management and General Matters of OJSC N.W.Telecom,

- Victor Plyachenko, Regional Director – Director of the St. Petersburg branch of OJSC N.W.Telecom,

manager s of the Company , as well as the first subscribers who came to Flagman, and journalists .

A presentation of Flagman was held for the participants of the event who saw all the functional areas: demonstration area, sales and service area, self- service area, Internet Hall, waiting and recreation area. Those who were present at the ceremony had an opportunity to get on the Internet at the maximum possible speed using the PON technology and to test the interactive Avangard TV television, and the first client s of Flagman received keepsakes from the Company .

The opening of Flagman was held in a stylized form inspired by the history of the building at 88, Nevsky Prospekt, in which progressive and promising organizations and societ ies of the time were situated more than a hundred years ago: the editorial board of the Novy Put and Novy Satirikon magazines, higher natural-science courses for women, Russian Literary Society, and early in the 20th century the Union cinema was opened in the yard of the building, and later the only Stereo Cinema in the city was situated there. In accordance with the historical version that Vladimir Mayakovsky, a brilliant Russian poet, often visited the place, it was he (played by an actor) who met the arriving guests and expressed his good perception of what was happening in concise poetic miniatures in the style of slogans of ROSTa Windows.

Greeting the participants of the event, Oleg Popov, Chief Commercial Director of OJSC N.W.Telecom, noted: “ St. Petersburg is a special city, a city of innovation and freedom of thought, and a city of new technologies and traditional cultural values. The most important value for our Company is the client . It is for him or her that we introduce advanced technologies, offer promising telecommunication service s and improve the quality and culture of servicing . Our Flagman is up-to-date and stylish, it is equipped according to the latest developments in technology; this is another step towards the client and our joint step forward and to the future, to the high Europe an standards of service and quality.   We are confident that all visitors will get answers to their questions here and will feel the respect and care that each our customer deserves. It is symbolical that our Flagman, the most fashionable and advanced client office of OJSC N.W.Telecom, is situated in such a historically interesting building where the futuristic ideas, the ideas of new times and changes for the better have always haunted. I believe that our Flagman in Nevsky Prospekt has taken its due place and that it will completely justify our hopes and expectations of our client s, having become the brand symbol of our Company in the Northern Capital.”

Victor Ivanovich Plyachenko, Regional Director – Director of the St. Petersburg branch of OJSC N.W.Telecom, who also spoke at the ceremony of opening the Flagman, emphasized the importance of the event for St. Petersburg : “High-quality servicing of client s is our main objective . And I am very pleased that it is in Nevsky Prospekt , the heart of our city, that the first up-to-date unified sales and service centre of the Flagman category in St. Petersburg has appeared.   I am sure that Flagman will become a unique symbol of the telecommunication development of the city on Neva. The restructuring of own sales network started in St. Petersburg 2 years ago: in autumn 2008 we opened two renovated service centres: in the Atmosfera shopping mall in Primorsky District and in the Astra shopping and entertainment centre in Frunzensky District of St. Petersburg . Quite recently, in April this year, a new customer service centre in Komissara Smirnova street received its first client s. And we are not going to stop at what has been accomplished. Our plans are to do our best to make it comfortable and pleasant for residents of the Northern Capital to be OJSC N.W.Telecom’s client s.”
