'The Exporter of the Year' is an annual rating done by the DHL International and Russian magazine Expert Rating Agency.

In 2001, Severstal swept off two of the 6 awards. It was named the exporter with the highest number of foreign clients and was the leader in terms of geographical coverage of trade.

Experts evaluated Severstal's export client base and found it impressive, reaching 600 buyers in 100 countries.

Today Severstal's general director and sales director have set off for an international business tour, which has an objective of planning company export operations in 2003. Severstal's top managers will visit Germany, Luxembourg, China, Korea and Great Britain. They will hold negotiations with existing and potential clients.

According to Dmitry Goroshkov, "We intend to offer our clients a new product - the IF steel. We have introduced it to the market with the launch of the de-airing equipment in the converter. Some countries in Europe and South-East Asia have shown interest in this product".
