JSC Central Telegraph and IBS completed the fist stage of the project for the development of Enterprise Resource Planning System

IBS, the leader of Russian information technology and consulting market, completed the first step of the project for the development of Enterprise Resource Planning System for JSC Central Telegraph.

Dynamic development of telecommunication market requires the improvement of JSC Central Telegraph efficiency and competitiveness. Thus, in the beginning of 2002 Company management initiated a tendering procedure for the development of an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) System. Having won the tendering procedure, IBS started the implementation of the project.

The main goal of the project is the optimization and automation of major business processes at JSC Central Telegraph related to the provision of telecommunication services. Structured organization of processes at JSC Central Telegraph will ensure additional profit due to decrease in time required for the provision of services and for putting of new services and products into operation, and retaining current and attracting new customers due to reduction in time and increase in quality of service.

The project started in the end of July 2002. At the first stage the project team developed the repository of JSC Central Telegraph's business processes and the Concept of the development of Enterprise Resource Planning System. At this stage the project team conducted researches, documenting and analysis of current state of business processes, identified key processes and prepared recommendations for their optimization. Among the results of this stage was the technology of business processes documenting (modeling) technology delivered to Company management, and training of JSC Central Telegraph's specialists.

At the second stage it is planned to optimize key business processes and to develop Terms of Reference for the set up of the first phase of ERP. The project team should identify, formalize and agree the requirements to the automated system.

In the framework of the third stage it is planned to make a draft design of ERP System in order to define possible options of its implementation, to review these options with regard to the requirements set in the Terms of Reference, and to consider the feasibility of suggested solutions.

The project is to be completed in March 2003.
