Mass repair work has begun at Penzaenergo, Branch of Rosseti Volga. During the two-month preparation, the power engineers carried out maintenance and repair of special equipment that will be involved in the repair work. Also, the necessary materials and equipment were delivered to the warehouses: components for transformer substations, power lines, supports of overhead lines (OHL), wire, paint, oil, etc.

As part of the repair campaign, which will last until the end of September, power engineers will repair more than 620 km of 0.4–10 kV overhead lines and more than 400 km of 35–110 kV overhead lines. Specialists will replace more than 2.5 thousand wooden and reinforced concrete supports, more than 8.5 thousand line insulators, as well as 94 km of wire and 0.9 km of lightning protection cable.

Current repair work will take place at 743 transformer substations 10/6/0.4 kV, major repairs are planned at 67 (substations) 110/35/10/6 kV.

At the 35/110 kV substation, Penzaenergo specialists will repair 379 6-110 kV circuit breakers, 311 disconnectors, 117 separators and short-circuits, replace 115 support-rod insulators. The largest objects of the 2021 repair campaign will include 110 kV Khimmash SS, 110 kV Mayak SS, 110 kV Kolyshley OHL, 110 kV Pankratovka-Studenets, Sursk-Aseevskaya-1 overhead lines. Here power engineers will carry out current and major repairs of the main equipment and constituent elements.

Large-scale work is to be done to clear the routes of overhead lines from trees and shrubs. The plans for 2021 are to carry out clearing on an area of 882 hectares.

Repair works are aimed at ensuring the proper level of reliability of power grid equipment, uninterrupted power supply to consumers in the Penza Region, as well as preventing violations and failures in the operation of electrical installations.
