The pilot project on implementation of the counters of the new generation is carried out on the basis of Nizhnelomovsky production department of the branch of “IDGC of Volga”, JSC – “Penzaenergo”. The goal of the project is the control over thefts and decrease of electric energy losses during its transmission and distribution in the electric power grids. The village Sorokino of Nizhnelomovsky district with the number of electric energy consumers equal to 48 houses was selected as a pilot area. The off-market and used up old counting meters were replaced by new ones. The counters were installed not indoors, as was formerly the case, but highly on the houses fronts. This position will restrict the access of unauthorized persons to the counters. Only specialists of the electric energy service will service the equipment. Nowadays it is not necessary for the inspectors to come to the houses of consumers. Special block installed on the transformer substation in a continuous regime monitors the counter level and using the cellular communication channels on schedule transfers data to the dispatcher service of the distribution zone. As the need arises the meter can be read remotely every hour. Besides, the counter works as a residual current circuit-breaker. It automatically switches off home network in case of voltage peaks or short circuit. The novel project devoted to decrease of the electric energy losses is at work over month. Further it is planned to use the new types of counters wider. New generation of the counters are convenient and easy of use for consumers. They are a new step in the improvement of reliability of the consumers power supply for power energy specialists.
