Specialists of branch of JSC “MOESK” – Southern Electric Grids took part in summer measurement day for determination of schedules of electric loads and voltages on substations (SS) and in grids. It is necessary for analysis and development of operating regimes of power system at the moment of minimum summer loads in order to detect actual level of power consumption in this period and estimate reliability of work of electric grids.
According to regulations on substations 35-110-220 kV of Southern Electric Grids in measurement day from 00.00 till 24.00 branch’s personnel carried out hourly measurements of actual load flow, voltages and loads in units, actual capacity, as well as daily consumption of electric power.
Power engineers took down values of metering devices, installed on every feeder, outgoing electric power transmission lines 35, 110, 220 kV, auxiliary transformers of substations and power transformers. Measurements were also made on subscriber and tracking substations. This will allow to detect the most loaded and under loaded sections of grid complex, power centers with low voltage and high consumption of reactive capacity, as well as power facilities with capacity reserve for new technological connection of consumers.
Taking into consideration importance of processing and analysis of data of measurement day, personnel of services of substations, lines, relay protection and automation, carrying out accounting and transport of electric power, was engaged to work. All planned works and transfers on substations were cancelled, maximally possible normal operational scheme of electric grid was made for higher accuracy of measurements.
Measurement day in JSC “MOESK” is held two times in year: in summer and winter periods.
According to Chief Engineer of Southern Electric Grids Mikhail Ezhokin, “data, received due to results of carrying out of measurement day allow to balance operating regimes of grids, prevent occurrence of technological disturbances and failures in electric power supply of consumers. Results of measurements are used for development of scheme of prospective development of power system, scheduling of volumes of electric power consumption, as well as placing of emergency automatic protective devices. All arrangements in the end lead to increase of effectiveness and regularity of work of JSC “MOESK” electric grids”.
