At the 9th Norwecom-2002 international specialized exhibition of communication and telecommunication systems starting today, all the telecommunication operators now united in one company in the North-West are presented at the stand of OJSC North-West Telecom.
Speaking at the press conference dedicated to the exhibition opening, OJSC North-West Telecom General Manager S. V. Soldatenkov noted that “the capitalization of the united company will exceed US$ 300 million, with the number of subscribers exceeding 3.5 million and nearly 35,000 employees.
The exhibition is attended by the CEOs of all these operators, so you are welcome to come up and ask any questions – we will be happy to answer them. Today, we present several interesting projects, one of which is HomePNA. Home Phoneline Networking Alliance is a new technology turning conventional telephone lines into high-rate lines of access to the Internet, where transmission of data and speech (phone conversation) may be provided simultaneously.”
A large part of the North-West Telecom exhibition located in the 2nd storey of Pavilion 4 will display for visitors the services provided by Petersburg Telephone Network, a subsidiary of the Company.
Tomorrow, February 27, from 11:00 till 12:00, the North-West Telecom stand will present the “Telemedicine” project. The presentation will be attended by E. R. Usseinov, Deputy Director of the Medical Statistics Bureau and Head of the Telemedicine Working Group, Health Committee of St. Petersburg Administration, and Professor O. D. Dmitrienko, Deputy Director of the Ambulance Service Research Institute. The presentation will include sessions of video conference communication with the Ambulance Service Research Institute and the Telecommunication Center of St. Petersburg
On Thursday, February 28, from 13:00 till 14:00, a presentation of the Russian Foundation for History of Communications will be offered. The exhibition will offer presentation of the IP Telephony service and prize-drawing for Telephone Service Card (TSC) buyers daily from February 26 till March 2.
