Rosseti Invited Independent Owners of Charging Stations to Join the Digital Ecosystem

When speaking at the strategic session “A New Level in the Development of Electric Transport and Charging Infrastructure” at the International Electric Networks Forum, Konstantin Mikhailik, Deputy General Director for Operations of PJSC Rosseti, invited independent owners of charging stations to join the digital ecosystem of Rosseti in the field of electric transport.

“For all consumers, we will offer a software product that will allow the owner of charging stations to monetize charging services, receive complete information about the status of the station, control who is charging on it, and reserve it for the owner of an electric vehicle. We are also ready to offer turnkey services for the installation, connection, maintenance, repair of charging stations and everything else necessary for the successful operation of charging stations,” Konstantin Mikhailik said. "Thanks to our experience gained, we can provide potential owners of charging stations with both design and construction work at the highest level. All this will allow us to create a full-fledged charging infrastructure ecosystem in the city, in neighbourhoods and on the water surface, and create a complete set of products to cover the entire market. This is one of roadmap's activities prepared by Rosseti.

The company plans to implement the 30/30 Program until 2024. This is a program for creating a network of more than 770 electric charging stations in 30 major cities and on 30 highways. The company will implement plans within the framework of projects such as Energy of the City, Energy of Roads, Energy of Urban Transport, Energy of Water.

Konstantin Mikhailik outlined the target indicator of the program for cities, namely, from 10 or more charging stations in each of the cities, depending on the number of inhabitants. He paid special attention to charging infrastructure for urban public transport vehicles such as electric buses.

“We are implementing a large-scale project in Moscow and now we will replicate the experience of life cycle contracts in other regions. Now we are working on a project of charging infrastructure for urban electric transport in the Kemerovo region, and we are starting to work in the regions of the Central Federal District,” Konstantin Mikhailik said.

A new business area is the development of charging infrastructure for river transport. A pilot project is currently being implemented in St. Petersburg. First of all, it is designed for river taxis that can be charged at the berths when boarding/disembarking passengers.

In a few years, we will have a new consumer, who will be an owner of electric vehicles with a flexible consumption schedule. A consumer of this kind will want to become part of the power system and gain the ability to manage the demand for electricity by returning it to the network. We must learn to adapt new electric cars to the network and adapt the network accordingly to increased consumption, make it more flexible, regulate the load by analyzing the data on traffic and parking of electric cars. We will not need to build many new powerful power plants, we will consider electric vehicles as mobile sources of electricity,” said the Deputy General Director for Operations at Rosseti.
For reference:
Transport tax for owners of electric vehicles has been canceled in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Moscow region, in the Ulyanovsk region, in the Kemerovo region, in the Tambov region, in the Irkutsk region. In Moscow, the fee for using paid municipal parking was canceled for electric vehicles.
