The environmental and energy rating Agency "Interfax-ERA" published the next rating of the fundamental effectiveness of the 150 largest companies in the real sector of the Russian economy for the year 2016. PJSC "IDGC of Centre and Volga region", finishing in 5th place in the ranking, among the ten largest companies in the country with high levels of environmental and energy and technological efficiency. 
In the ranking of the 150 largest Russian companies. Ranking conducted on five criteria: cost of energy and resources per unit of output, technological efficiency, ecosystem efficiency, the level of disclosure reporting of energy and resource consumption over and impacts on the environment and on the changes in efficiency between 2005 and 2016. Companies are ranked on the importance of each criterion. The final place in the ranking is determined by the sum of the five places in the ranking lists.
The presence of IDGC of Center and Volga region in the rankings scoring system confirms the company's work to improve energy, technological and environmental efficiency, information transparency.
Work on energy conservation is conducted in the power sector since its formation. Reduction of commercial and technological losses in the distribution networks allows to reduce the energy intensity of individual processes to improve overall efficiency, increase return on investments in network infrastructure, which ultimately leads to improving the reliability and quality of electricity supply.
In the first 10 months of 2016, the volume of electricity supplies in networks of PJSC "IDGC of Centre and Volga region" was 43 348 million kWh electricity losses – of 8.48% in terms of 8.65%, in absolute terms, losses were reduced by 10.6 million kWh .
Reduced the volume of resource consumption (electricity, heat, gas, water) on its own economic and industrial needs. Through the use of energy efficient lighting, upgrading heating systems and insulation of industrial buildings and constructions the energy consumption for 10 months of current year has decreased compared to the same period in 2015 370 tons of fuel. Electricity consumption decreased by 788 thousand kWh, thermal energy – 1530 Gcal, natural gas at 28 thousand cubic meters, water consumption was reduced by 4.2 thousand m3. 
The priority of IDGC of Center and Volga region and ecological security of the transmission and distribution of electricity. Since the Foundation of the energy company demonstrates a responsible approach to the conservation of natural resources, is committed to a minimum to reduce the negative impact on the environment and introducing new environmental technologies. In all branches of the company organized to conduct industrial environmental control, and equipment of temporary storage of waste, transfer of waste to specialized organizations of production and consumption to the disposal and placement. In the framework of the investment program the company carries out reconstruction of systems and devices of oil receivers, the replacement of oil switches to vacuum and gas-insulated.
Specialists of the company intend not to lower the bar and continue the systematic work aimed not only for the efficient development of the grid infrastructure of nine regions of the country, but constant monitoring and control of environmental safety of power facilities.
