Orenburgenergo, a branch of IDGC of Volga, PJSC (a member of Rosseti Group of Companies), was awarded the Gold Badge in the XVII Regional Contest Economy Leader.

The Gold Badge and Diploma were presented to Viktor Kazhayev, Director of Orenburgenergo, by the Governor of the Orenburg region Yuri Berg. The award ceremony took place on December 11, 2017, in the Function Hall of the Orenburg Regional Government. The contest jury evaluated the companies against 26 financial indicators: profitability, investments, labor productivity, employee turnover rate, social benefits. This year, 64 companies from 15 municipalities reached the regional round of the contest. Orenburgenergo demonstrated high results on the main criteria. For instance, the total electricity distribution in 2016 amounted to 9 billion 58 million kWh. With regard to the second business direction — technological connection to power grids — 2,450 applications, mostly from individuals, were received in 2016. The company signed 2,330 contacts and actually connected 2,604 new consumers. Large-scale projects included connections of housing blocks, industrial sites and oil fields.

Orenburgenergo won in the nomination “Company of High Social Efficiency”. The company created proper environment to develop professions, creative and athletic potential of its staff. The employees upgrade their skills taking special courses, trainings, seminars and participating in various programs of mentorship and candidate pool extension. The system of internal communications has been improved as well. In the nomination “Environmental Responsibility” Orenburgenergo was ranked the second. A long-term program aimed to prevent mass death of birds on high-voltage overhead transmission lines with open wires implemented by Orenburgenergo in cooperation with the Russian Birds Conservation Union was highly valued by the judging panel.

 According to this program document, in 2016, power sector specialists installed 3,750 bird protection devices on insulators of 6 and 10 kV overhead power transmission lines across the Orenburg region. Of special concern were segments of OHLs passing through natural reserves territories. “Economy Leader — 2017” is an annual regional contest for enterprises and municipal ventures which achieved significant financial and social results in 2016. The contest is organized by the Government of the Orenburg region in cooperation with the Orenburg Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs.
