Rosseti Volga prepares for autumn-winter period of 2020-2021

Power engineers of Rosseti Volga (brand of IDGC of Volga, PJSC) have begun implementing the 2020 repair program in 7 regions of the Volga Federal District.

During the meeting of the headquarters of the electric grid complex on minimizing the risks of the spread of viral infections, the General Director of Rosseti, PJSC Pavel Livinsky emphasized that regardless of the force majeure situations in the country and the world, the Rosseti Group must realize 100% and on time the planned set of measures to ensure reliable and high-quality power supply to consumers in the coming winter.Fulfilling the instructions of the Head of Rosseti, Volga power engineers intensified large-scale work at substations and power lines in the Saratov, Samara, Ulyanovsk, Orenburg, Penza regions, the Republic of Mordovia and the Chuvash Republic.

This year, power engineers will have to repair more than 26 thousand km of overhead power lines with a voltage of 0.4–10 kV and over 10 thousand km of 35–110 kV. It is planned to replace 17 thousand supports and 85 thousand linear insulators, about 880 km of wire, more than 90 km of lightning protection cable. At substations of 35–110 kV, overhaul, medium and current repairs will be carried out on 3.6 thousand power and automatic transformers of 6–110 kV, 7 thousand switches of 6–110 kV, 2 thousand disconnectors, 780 isolators and short-circuit of 35–110 kV. It is planned to install 77 new high-voltage bushings of 35–110 kV. P

ower engineers will also repair about 5.5 thousand transformer substations, about 900 transformers and more than 300 circuit breakers of 0.4–10 kV. An important component of the annual preparation for OWP is the elimination of possible risks of technological disruptions caused by falling trees or branches onto wires. To this end, power engineers will conduct clearing of power transmission lines over an area of about 5 thousand hectares and filing more than 3 thousand trees.
