ZMZ (Zavolzhye Engine making plant, Nighegorodski region) signed a long term contract with Buzuluk company (Check republic) for supplies of piston rings for ZMZ-406 and ZMZ-410 engine types. These engines are used in GAZ (Gorki Automotive Plant) and UAZ (Ulyianovsk Automotive Plant) made vehicles.
This is a five year contract within which an increase in the volume of piston rings corresponds with the decrease of their unit price. The volume of supplies is directly linked to the volume of production of engines.
"This contract is one of the steps taken by the company management to increase the quality of engines. Now UAZ suppliers are chosen on the best value for money ground as well as the strategic partnership," said Igor Morozov, ZMZ commercial director.
ZMZ started working with Buzuluk company in the production of pistol rings of the federal Mogul technology in 2000. Regular supplies started in 2001 following the test batch. Imported Buzuluk pistol rings proved to be of superior quality as compared with the like domestic products, made in Kostroma and Michurinsk. Buzuluk pistol rings help to avoid car defects, which lead to an increase in oil consumption and decrease in car's capacity.
