Power engineers of Ulyanovsk Distribution Grids, a branch of IDGC of Volga, PJSC (a member of Rosseti Group), finished the repair of two Ulyanovsk-Kremenki-1,2 OVH-110 kV sections in the place where the line crosses the federal railway branch of Russian Railways, JSC. Prior to the beginning of repair the company experts together with Russian Railways representatives conducted preparatory works for disconnecting four 10 kV OVH lines at the place of works for securing safety of the personnel. Employees of the regional high-voltage power lines service replaced 500 m of lightning protection cable, replaced porcelain insulation with the glass one and installed double brackets for insulation strings.

Apart from that, they repaired grounding loops on 30 supports of the overhead transmission lines. Five special equipment items were used during replacement of the lightning protection cable — hydraulic elevated work platforms and telescopic towers. Repairing of 110 kV Ulyanovsk-Kremenki-1,2 OVH allowed to improve operational reliability of the line at places of crossing the railways and provide faults-free operation during the storm season.

Within 2016 repair program, employees of the regional service of high-voltage lines and the same services of Ulyanovsk DG production departments plan to repair 842 km of 35–110 kV power lines in the entire region. All the works will be finished prior to the beginning of autumn and winter seasons.
