On October 1, 2004 Lensvyaz and Svyaz Komi were delisted from the Unified State Register of Legal Entities. The share swap of the entities merging with NWT also took place as planned. Thus the merger of Lensvyaz and Svyaz Komi with North West Telecom is complete.
As a result of the merger, NWT will be able to provide the full range of telecom services: fixed line, voice and data transmission, telematic services, Internet access, etc. all across the North West Federal District, including the Leningrad, Arkhangelsk, Murmansk, Novgorod, Pskov, Vologda and Kaliningrad regions, as well as the Republic of Karelia and the Republic of Komi.
Commenting on this event, CEO of NWT Vladimir Akulich notes: “Completion of the merger process and the formation of a single operator able to provide coverage throughout the region is bound to be well received by the investment community. Right now our challenge is to maximize benefits from the synergy produced from the merger and roll out a consolidated telecom operator which provides the full gamut of top quality telecom services”.
