Today Severstal holds a conference for personnel departments of the Severstal group. This is the fist time the conference is held on this big of a big scale which proves that personnel issues are of strategic importance to Severstal - they provide for its future development.

Fifty representatives of twenty companies of the Severstal group, including ChSPZ (Cherepovets Steel Rolling Plant), UAZ (Uliyanovsk Autmotive Plant), Karelsky Okatysh, Olcon, Severstalmash and others will participate in the conference. Several reports will be given and priority personnel issues discussed.

Leonid Gavrilov, Severstal's personnel, will make a report on The Role and Place of Personnel Management in Reaching the Company's Goals. Vadim Makhov, Severstal's director of strategic planning, will speak of the perspectives and directions of company's development, particularly of the spin off of non-core businesses, which are parts of the Severstal group. Finally, the project of the Corporate University of the Severstal group will be presented.

Dmitry Kuptsov, head of the information technologies department, will make a report on making use of information technologies by companies of the Severstal group and further steps in that direction.
