Specialists of IDGC of Volga, JSC make efforts to increase operational safety of the electric grid facilities

IDGC of Volga, JSC (a member of Rosseti Group of Companies) successfully implemented a package of activities aimed to maintain the highest level of security against terrorist attacks, acts of sabotage, and prevent electrical injuries. Comprehensive prevention measures implemented at the power facilities include installation of security and fire alarm systems, CCTV, reinforced concrete perimeter fencing, Egoza high-security spiral barbed wire fencing, access control facilities and checkpoints, security lighting, and traffic control barriers. To ensure enhanced protection of the grid facilities, extensive efforts were made in the last year to implement the integrated security system.
As part of this program, four centralized monitoring stations with requisite equipment were put into operation at production departments of Saratov DG and Penzaenergo branches of IDGC of Volga, JSC. In compliance with the Training and Drill Sessions Schedule aimed to implement more effective counter-terrorism measures at the power grid facilities of IDGC of Volga, JSC, 24 tactical training exercises were held, including 15 joint training exercises with participation of regional authorities of the Federal Security Service, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and EMERCOM of Russia, and 118 special-purpose counter-terrorism training exercises at the grid facilities.
Last year 3,211 briefings and theoretical training sessions for security personnel and employees of the Company were held. In addition, 4,590 inspection checks were held to control fulfillment of employment duties by security staff members, as well as operational availability of security equipment and systems. In efforts to prevent electrical injuries, specialists of security subdivisions carried out a number of inspections to check availability and reliability of locking devices, efficiency of protective fencing, readability of warning signs and symbols at the power grid facilities.
