The professional skill contest among operation and maintenance teams servicing the distribution grids of IDGC of Volga, JSC started in production departments of Chuvashenergo, a branch of IDGC of Volga, JSC (a member of Rosseti Group of Companies). As for Severnoye PD, the jury has already selected the winner – the team of Krasnoarmeyskoye RES (electrical grids district). In the next few days, the contest results will be declared at other production departments as well. According to the rules, the contest is held in six stages. Traditionally, first the jury checks whether all requisite equipment and aids, including protective clothing, PPE, tools, accessories and records, are available and ready for use. Then, the participants will demonstrate their knowledge of the applicable regulations, guidelines and standards.
During one of the most challenging and critical contest stage, the teams have to rescue a person who has suffered an electric shock at 10 kV transmission line support, by taking the appropriate first aid measures. Competitions for electricians include the following tasks: rectification of equipment malfunctions promptly and in a workmanlike manner, repairing a wire of 10 kV overhead transmission line with installation of an oval connector, replacement of bare wires with self-supported isolated wires, measurement of phase-neutral loop resistance, replacement of an automatic circuit-breaker at a package transformer substation, fire suppression in a transformer bay of a 10/0.4 kV package transformer substation. The professional skill contest yearly held in Chuvashenergo, a branch of IDGC of Volga, JSC proves the excellence of the Company's personnel and their ability to operate in tough conditions.
