Power Machines Group, the Russian power machine building concern, being a member of the international Consortium "Center – West", and the Brazilian Company "Power Engineering Corumba -3" have signed the contract for construction of a hydropower plant "Corumba-3" in Brazil on turn-key basis.
According to the terms and conditions of the Contract Power Machines Group will carry out designing, manufacture, supply and supervision of erection of two turbines and generators produced by OJSC "LMZ" and OJSC "Electrosila".
The equipment to be manufactured at the Group's enterprises comprises the following:
- two Francis turbines with governors of 47.8 MW – to be produced by OJSC "LMZ";
- two generators with excitation systems of 52 MW – to be produced by OJSC "Electrosila".
Under the terms of the Contract the equipment will be supplied by two lots: for the first unit equipment will be supplied in October 2005, and for the second unit it will be supplied in December 2005.
Total value of the contract for construction of HPP "Corumba-3" amounts to 60 million US dollars, and the Power Machines Group's scope is 10 million US dollars. The project will be financed by the Customer.

In 1976-1979 Energomachexport, belonging to Power Machines Group, was supplying turbines, generators and other equipment with the total capacity 1720 MW for the Brazilian hydropower plants "Capivara" and "Sobradinho". Thus, signing of the present Contract is an important step on the way of the Power Machines Group back to the most promising Brazilian market after a more than 20 years-long break.

HPP "Corumba-3" will be commissioned in August 2006.
This 95.6 MW hydropower plant will be constructed in the State of Goias, district of Luziania, Brazil, on Corumba river. It is assumed that the power station will be providing electric power for the said state.
