At the JSC Centertelecom stand

On 10 September 2003, a grand opening of the 3rd International Exhibition and Forum "InfoCom-2003" was held, which simultaneously proceeds in Moscow, Ekaterinburg, Krasnodar, Nizhniy Novgorod and Novosibirsk. It represents a broad spectrum of ways of domestic telecommunications development and the world's latest achievements in the field.

CenterTelecom is a basic operator that provides the Central Federal District with telecommunications infrastructures, taking an active part in the implementation of the "Electronic Russia" Federal Target Program, and furnishes its resources to be used in specific projects.

The Company presented a project entitled "InfoCity" for the public view, within the framework of its displayed exhibits, which was developed by the scientists of the Moscow University of Telecommunications and Informatics pursuant to the CenterTelecom's assignment. This is a portal with a simplified access to the information array enabling a large number of users to gain any information concerning the public life of a specific populated area.

Another JSC CenterTelecom's impressive exhibit is a prototype of the already implemented project for comprehensive providing rural areas in the Solnechnogorsk district, Moscow Region, with information media. Its technical solution is based on the Region's broadband multiservice network resting, for its part, on the interactive microwave TV in the MMDS (Multichannel Microwave Distribution System) standard. The system provides for a packet of basic infocomm services. It comprises conventional telephony, 12 television channels, VHF sound program, and a quality access to Internet. The project is meant for introducing throughout the Central Federal District of Russia.

The official delegation comprising high-ranking representatives of the RF Ministry for Communications and JSC CenterTelecom headed by Mr. L.D. Reiman, the Minister for Communications of this country, visited the Company's "InfoCom-2003" exposition. Telecom specialists and mass media men showed a keen interest in the exhibits displayed at the CenterTelecom stand.
