Svyazinvest and Accenture start up joint project

Svyazinvest and Accenture have commenced a joint corporate restructuring project for entities taking part in Svyazinvest's super-regional telecom merger.  The project will include all 78 subsidiaries of the national telecom holding, which are to merge into seven large companies.  The phase of formal requirements is now complete, and Svyazinvest is preparing for the next phase, which involves intensive restructuring. It will enable the holding to work out a restructuring model which is in line with the best global business practise. The project will also yield a detailed plan describing the actions and tools to be used in switching over to the new business model.

The Volga merger has been selected as the pilot test model for the project, where actions will revolve around the core company Nizhegorosvyazinform, which will unite with 10 other operators in the Volga Federal District. Representatives from the 11 companies had two days to familiarize themselves with the project, which was presented by Svyazinvest, Accenture and Boston Consulting Group. The 4-month long telecom projects is expected to cover all major areas of the regional operators during that period of time. Six project teams have been set up to work in the following areas: "Structure and Corporate Governance", "Marketing", "Human Resources", 'Economics", "Procurement and Logistics", "Network", and "Information Technology".  The project will involve collecting data on the current status of the companies, evaluating it, and then drafting a corporate restructuring and comprehensive plan for its implementation, whereby the merged entities will switch over to the model which will have been framed during the joint work process.
