OJSC Svyazinvest held a series of road shows in New York and London from April 15 - 17 in association with JP Morgan Chase Bank.  At the same time the management of OJSC Svyazinvest and four regional mergers met with the heads of western investment funds and institutions.  

This was the first opportunity for major western investors to get a close look at the restructuring process launched by Svyazinvest, and four of the macro-regional merger entities: from the North Western, Central, Urals and Siberian regions.  

During 1-day conferences, entitled "Russian Fixed Line Telecommunications Companies: New Opportunities", reports were delivered by Svyazinvest CEO Valery Yashin, general director of OJSC CenterTelecom Ruben Amaryan, general director of OJSC Sibirtelecom Anatoly Nikulin, general director of OJSC Uralsvyazinform, Vladimir Rybakin, and first vice general director of OJSC North-Western Telecom Igor Samylin. 

The road shows stirred considerable interest among the investment community both in New York and London.  Major participants in the road shows included such well-known investment funds and asset management companies as: Morgan Stanley, JPMorgan Fleming, Soros Fund, Goldman Sachs, Merrill Lynch, Lazard, Capital etc. 

Aside from presentations on the macro-regional companies, the road shows included one-on-one meetings, during which investors had the chance to get acquainted personally with Svyazinvest executives, ask questions and receive answers about the outlook of the telecom business in Russia.
