On 16 June 2016, at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF), Rosseti PJSC and Prysmian RUS signed a bilateral agreement on strategic partnership in the area of localizing the manufacture of cable products at the Rybinskelektrokabel plant in Rybinsk, as well as on the development and application of innovative technological solutions for the Russian power-grid complex. The document was signed by Rosseti PJSC General Director Oleg Budargin and Prysmian RUS General Director Cesare Biggiogera. Both companies intend to foster long-term cooperation in terms of localizing the manufacture of cable products at the Rybinsk plant, and creating and using new technologies ensuring the uninterrupted power-supply of consumers that boast high energy-efficiency characteristics and support reliable equipment functioning. In particular, the agreement envisions the possibility of using 6-500 kV cables with a new type of insulation (HPTE) and a system for monitoring the partial discharges of primary equipment and cable systems at Rosseti PJSC facilities as part of a series of pilot projects. The agreement will cover the long-term exchange of scientific and technical information, improvement of production processes, and introduction of innovative equipment, as well as turnkey solutions in the areas of interest to both parties.
