Mordovenergo, a branch of IDGC of Volga, JSC, continues reconstruction of the power generating and technological complex of 110/6 kV Tsentralnaya substation. Power engineers pay special attention to this substation because when a new soccer stadium with 45,000 seats in Saransk was designed, Tsentralnaya substation was selected as a back-up power centre. Besides, it will supply a training ground and other sport facilities for the 2018 FIFA World Cup. The company has constructed modular buildings for indoor switchgear and substation control houses, completed the installation and commissioning of 6 kV indoor switchgear and substation control houses, repaired and assembled the power transformer Ò-2 reserved by Mordovenergo, assembled the power equipment of 110 kV outdoor switchgear. The works to shift consumers from outdated metal-clad switchgear to new indoor switchgear is coming to a close. Upon completion, all outdated equipment will be dismantled, including the power transformer Ò-1, and the substation area will be flattened. In 2014, the company plans to perform construction works, assemble and commission newly assembled equipment. The substation and adjacent areas will be fenced and improved in 2015.
