The Meeting of JSOC Bashneft’s Board of Directors held by absentee voting approved the appointment of Denis Kurtov to the position of Vice President for Human Resources and included him in the Company’s Management Board. Valentin Timakov, who had held this position earlier, decided to continue his career outside Bashneft.

Denis Kurtov was born on November 11, 1975. In 1997 he graduated from State University of Management with a degree in sociology; in 2001 Mr. Kurtov graduated from the Institute of World Economy and International Relations (IMEMO). He has a PhD in Economics. From 1998 through 2000 Mr. Kurtov worked for the HR Department of Yukos Oil Company, and in 2000–2009 he held a number of positions in Tyumen Oil Company and TNK-BP, including the position of HR Director of the Upstream Business Unit. In 2009–2011 Mr. Kurtov was the Head of HR Department at OJSC Gazprom Neft. In 2011–2013 he worked as the Director for Personnel Development at OJSC TNK-BP Management.
