Energy saving and enhanced energy efficiency is an integral part of modernization policy. This issue was emphasized by Anton Inyutsyn, Deputy Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation, while opening a meeting in the Plenipotentiary Representative Office in the North-West Federal District.
It was Aleksandr Mikhalkov, Deputy General Director for Development and Services Sales, who presented IDGC of the North-West at the joint videoconference with regional authorities. The Company spends much effort to enhance energy efficiency. One of the key tasks is to decrease transmission losses.
By 2016, due to a whole range of actions being taken, the Company expects to achieve a cumulative effect in loss reduction amounted to 292 mln kWh.  Within the framework of the Program for Prospective Development of a System for Electric Energy Accounting in the Retail Electric Energy Market IDGC of the North-West plans to modernize/newly install electric energy accounting units at 90 thousand accounting points.
