| Uralsvyazinform revenues in the first quarter of 2003 amounted to USD132,2 mln. (+24,1% as compared to 1Q2002). Revenues from telecommunication services reached USD120,3 mln. (+23,0% as compared to 1Q2002).
In general the revenue structure from telecommunication services as of 1Q2003 is as follows:
Domestic and international long-distance telephony - 46,4 % (47,1 % in 1Q2002);
Urban telephony - 35,5 % (35,3 %);
Mobile telephony* and paging - 8,1 % (7,9 %);
New telecommunication services (Internet, intelligent network, ISDN) - 2,6 % (2,0 %);
Other services (TV and radio broadcasting, rural telephony and others) - 7,4 % (7,7 %).
* revenues from 100% owned business (GSM 900/1800, NMT 450i).
Operating expenses equaled USD98,1 mln. (+24,5%). In general the expenses structure in 1Q2003 is as follows:
operating expenses - 44,6% (40,6%);
including Rostelecom interconnect fees - 12,6% (14,6%)
wages - 29,7 % (31,5%);
depreciation - 14,8 % (15,6%);
taxes and deductions - 10,9% (12,3%).
Thus, by the results of 1Q2003 EBITDA totaled USD48,7 mln. (+21,7%), operating profit - USD34,2 mln. (+22,9%), pre-tax profit - USD17,2 mln. (+29,5%), net profit - USD11,7 mln. (+30,3%). read on (PDF)
