OJSC Far Eastern Telecom Company (Dalsvyaz) recently released the results of its business and financial activity for the first six months of 2002. Over the past six months Dalsvyaz entered more than 8,000 telephone lines into service, thereby overshooting its target by 6.25%. The total number of the company's urban telephone network increased by 8,002 lines, while the increase in rural lines was in excess of 500 lines.
The company's revenue for the reporting period under review was Rub 7.96 bn, which is up 25.5% compared to the first six months of 2001.
Sales income posted an increase of 53.4% and reached Rub 186 bn for 1H 2002, while cost was down by 5.3%.
OJSC Dalsvyaz devoted considerable attention to restructuring and cost-cutting measures during the first six months of 2002, which is confirmed by the fact that there are only minor deviations in the planned indicators compared to the company's actual indices and the stable growth in profits.
